    Change over day tomorrow, remember to tell everyone you know not to get sick, injured etc. next week !!! Good luck in your new jobs folks.

    My consultant told me on my first day of work and I quote:

    'I hate nothing more than excuses. I have taken a half day sick in the last 30 years and that was when I collapsed in theatre through exhaustion as I had a serious illness. If you call in sick...make sure it's because a truck hit you and you were decapitated on the M50 on your way to work...'

    Ummm...

    That's pretty intimidating. I would be weary about posting this here however. How can you be sure that your consultant isn't on boards reading this post. I'm sure he would recognise his exact words and remember who he said them to.

    There are Consultants and GP's as well as many other doctors on boards.
