A van( panel) of any discription is a commercial vehicle and requires a yearly DOE Cert. The van can be tested at most Doe centres for about €80 and if passed you will recieve a note which you will accompany with your tax book /ins. etc when taxing the vehicle and you will get a cert for a year along with your tax disc. There is a fee added for this cert along with your tax disc.

    Hope this helps!

All commercial vehicles have to be DOE'd, regardless of how they are taxed.

DOE it. Then get the welding done and re-test it.:D I used to always drive an Escort van, I love them but they are just too shot at this stage. Rust is a killer but they have a lovely softness to the drive that no other van had/has. I sold the last one a few years back when the doe tester pointed out that all that was holding the back end together was the underseal.:D Good luck with the DOE- it'l be a classic in a few more years.

It doesn't matter what's on the log book, its still a commercial vehicle so has to be DOE'd.

I'm driving a privately taxed van myself ATM.

Well you won't even be insured to drive to the DOE in the first place.

Driving with no DOE is the least illegal part of what your doing.

Wot have i done illegal , never drove it on a public road , thats why im asking the questions so it wont be illegal ! **** this , ne1 wna buy a mint escort van :D:D:D

Why would you need a DOE if its not on the road? and since you wont be bothering to change the engine details officially, then surely you'll be keeping it legal and never taking on the road.
