Where to watch GAA in Ayr, Scotland

Not sure if here or travel is the best place to ask this so Mods feel free to move this if necessary.

I am over in Ayr for a few weeks with work and am looking for a place to watch the GAA (mainly football). I called into Scruffy Duffeys today and was met with a look of confusion when I asked about GAA, when I mentioned Gaelic Football he thought I was talking about the national soccer team.

So, does anyone know a place in Ayr where a man might watch the Connacht final next week?

Google 'aer tv'. All Irish stations live, great quality!

Cheers, I will have a look at that but we are having internet issues at the moment so the pub is a contingency plan.

Don't think Aer TV works outside Ireland but I could be wrong.
You could get onto Scotland GAA http://www.scotlandgaa.com/contact/ or one of the Glasgow teams who might know of a place.

I find Irish pubs abroad are Irish only in name. I remember getting a similar look to the one you got when I was over in the UK a few years back.

Depending on how desperate you are you could get the train to Glasgow, the train should take just over 30 minutes. Waxy O'Connor's show the majority of games and are only 5 minutes walk from central station.

If you have Sky where you are staying, then the games are on premier sports (433 on Sky). I think it costs £7.99 a month, with a minimum 2 month payment.

Cheers, I had considered Glasgow, good to know its only 5min from the station.

Just follow the signs for Queen Street station, the other main train station in Glasgow, Waxy O'Connors is right next to it

I was just about to post a thread specifically about Premier Sports Direct. I came across their name on a site I was using to stream the Clare and Dublin game. Did a search, this thread and few others came up, so thought best to post here.

I'm in London, I moved over in January and it really annoys me that I can't watch the games on TV. I don't really have a problem paying the price of a few pints to see the games.

So my question is, does anyone have experience of premier sports direct? I'm moving into a new place soon so I'll probably sign up to Sky just so I can get the GAA games via these guys. Their subscription doesn't work with Virgin Media. I was going to go down the route of signing up to Sky at home and bringing the card over, but this sounds a lot easier.

    Thoughts?

(PS. OP sorry for hijacking your thread)

Just get an SKY Sub from your home Irish Address , Bring the Box to London, You will get a SKY Dish Supplied and Mounted for less than £50 and you will then have all the Irish Stations , My Brother Lives in Ealing and does this and is very happy with it.

BTW I was in London last weekend and was in 4 Irish Pubs in Ealing/Hendon , All had RTE/TV3 for the Games , No Sign of Premier Sports ,

Go to TolBooth in Glasgow Cross , 10 mins from Central Station , Proper Irish Bar , Make the effort and you will not regret it. Was in ther when they were showing a Donegal League Game , Someone asked them to turn on the Premiership and were to f off !!
