    Hi,

I am going to service my Mazda 08 1.6 TS2 diesel. I got it serviced in the main dealer the last time so I was thinking of doing the
    • Oil
    • Oil Filter
    • Air Filter

The only thing that would concern me is the fluid for the DPF. As this was topped up the last time, would i be ok?? Is there a warning light that would be activated if the fluid was low. I read that you need to update the computer when the fluid is added to the tank.

    Any info appreciated

That fluid-fill generally lasts 70k - 80k miles so you have no worry, and yes there is a warning light for when a top-up is needed.

    cheers wheelnut.

On the book that came with the car it states to get the computer (ecu) on the car reset or else the diesel particle filter light may come on. Is this necessary?

    Thanks

I haven't seen that book but I would presume it refers to re-setting the ECU after refilling the fluid tank, so that would not apply for the service you are going to do. The ECU re-set would have been done by the dealer when he refilled the fluid.
