Hi everyone, I'm looking for suggestions for a weeks holiday in January with my boyfriend. Generally we like places that are a bit different, like Norway etc, but we are very much open to ideas! Basically we don't want anywhere where the weather will be a nightmare which rules out Berlin etc... So I'm thinking either a sun holiday, which I see from previous threads would be the canarys, or some sort of cool snow holiday where there are specific snowy things to Do!

We are on a budget, any suggestions would be really appreciated thanks :)

I'll recommend Zakopane in Poland for the snow. Fantastic place and very cheap :D

Fly Dublin- Krakow. You'll get a train from there. I'd also recommend a few days in Krakow itself. You should visit Auschwitz, but leave it until the 2nd last day of your trip as it's very upsetting. Why I say 2nd last day is so that your last day is'nt sad :)

Bratislava is brilliant in winter too :) and even cheaper than Poland.
We stayed in the best hostel EVER when we went there.(private room)

They will organise all your days out to go skiing etc.
I still smile when I think about it :)
