    Hi Folks

Woke up to the new EPG on my Amstrad HD box yesterday, I like the new look however I've had my HD box lock up with "no signal" on 4 occasions in the last 48hrs, I've another Sky+ multiroom showing full signal when the HD box hangs, reboot fixes problem, anyone else experiencing problems?

I had the exact same issue, a forced update resolved it for me

Mine went glitchy when trying to rewind programme I was watching. I was also recording on another channel, so didn't want to restart box. Just did soft turn-off to standby. Seemed to work for a minute, and then chaos. Couldn't do anything with the box. After a minute, it then tried to do all the commands I had sent it, so the box went crazy... at that point I lost all channels (blue screen), and so decided to check the recording that was taking place - again blue screen. Decided on cold restart, but then it wouldn't come out of standby. Had to do a few of these and completely let the box cool down ( > 1 hr), before it would turn on :(
So is it this the new firmaware, or a sign my box is on the way out... it's only about 18 months old.

What level of firmware are you on that is working well?

    Hi folks

just an update on the original problem, I spoke to Sky Tech and was told it was a known software issue to be resolved shortly but in the meantime just power off and reboot.

Over the next few days the box was rebooted dozens of times and finally locked up, couldn't change channel on EPG or by entering number, blue screen etc.

I rang Sky Tech again and the individual denied any knowledge of a software issue and blamed the HDMI cable.....after a strained support call I was offered the site visit for €100 but being of the opinion that this was a Sky issue I asked to escalate, I was given the "well if you dont want to pay there's nothing I can do" line, so I decided that if the service wasn't up to scratch and Sky were unwilling to resolve, I'd cancel.

The cancellation dept is obviously based in Cork and the girl there was very helpful, arranging a callout last Friday for a nominal €10.
So knowing full well the box would be replaced and all my recordings lost and still being p1ssed with Sky Tech, I fired off a complaint to Jeremy Darroch at Sky. I got a reply the following day, confirming the callout and post visit phonecall to arrange credit etc.

So service guy duly calls, does a thorough check of the box and replaces same but ids the problem with the new EPG and leaves the old software on, happy days, no problems over the weekend, everything works fine, then on Monday an auto software updates the EPG and immediately the box starts acting up, blue screen, channel lock etc.

I've just called Sky and I'm waiting for a return call but has anyone experienced this problem....?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Who's he, what does he do and how would one contact him? :)

    CEO of Sky

    jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com

usually gets you escalated to "Executive Support" and a prompt reply with action :)

Exact same issue since the software upgrade.

Have had to do multiple cold starts lately - also have had recordings 'clashing' and not recording when there is no clash - only changed to Sky in the last few months so the box should be fairly new..

As a matter of interest is your box connected to the phone line ??
