Haven't heard back from employer

I had an interview a couple of weeks ago and was told that I had the job and that the person interviewing me would be in touch at either the end of that week or the beginning of the next one to let me know about training and my hours. I've heard nothing back. I was going to ring back, only to discover that the number was gone from my phone (I didn't save it and it was wiped from the "recent calls" list.) Tried getting the number back from my network, no luck. The job is for a place that is opening up soon, so I can't even call in to speak to the manager. I also tried looking up the number but had no lick again. Is there anything I can do here?

Was it through an agency? if so, ring them.

Did you call them? If yes, get the bill from your mobile operator, it'll be on that. If you don't get a bill, can you view your call history online - you can with some MO's.

What mobile network are u with? I know with meteor they used to have a call and text log online with the numbers used so maybe you could check with your network?

I was told there and then that I got it. The phone call was to sort out hours.

No, I was contacted directly by the employer. They called me, and my operator doesn't show the call history online. When I tried to get in touch to ask if I could retrieve the number, they said it wasn't possible.

How did you find their number in the first place? Give us details and maybe we can help you track it down.

So they phoned you... but how did you actually apply for the job? If you sent them an email with your cv, try googling the email address. If you went for an interview at their HQ, contact them.

Exactly. You don't even need a phone number - just email them again.

I've no email address, nothing. It's part time work in a local independent shop, I simply dropped in a CV when they were looking for staff. So there's no HQ or anything that I could contact.

The place in question used to be part of a chain, but now it's under new management. I've found the number for the chain it used to be, though, so I will try ringing that on Monday and see if it's the same. I'm just worried that the employer may have changed their mind about taking me on, even though they said in the interview that I definitely had a job there.
