Does it really matter which variant of F4 you do? Irish materials are rare and expensive and I'm foreigner anyway. It is also possible I want to change country at some point (Gibraltar would be nice :P). But if I decided to stay in Ireland, will it affect negatively later in my career if I've done UK variant?

No it won't matter. Employers won't even look at which variant you took.

The purpose of the exam is to make you literate in legal issues which affect accountants. Ireland has a legal framework descended from the the UK so much of it will be crossover.

@TiGeR KiNgS or anyone else... Does this apply to the other modules too that offer the irish variant, off hand i can think of Taxation but i think there might be more!??

Just wondering due to the BPP changing the way they offer courses in Ireland!

    Thanks :)

    No,
P7 and P2 need to be Irish to get the Audit practising cert for Ireland.
Tax obviously is specific to each country so it matters which variant.

The reason law can be any variant is that we are accountants, if we need legal advice we go to solicitors for expert opinions and to transfer risk.
