Sky+HD box

    I'm new to sky , just got the sky+hd box in on Thursday, tell me this, if I miss the start of a program on lets say RTE 1 for example and I'm watching something on sky 1, again just an example , should I be able to switch over to RTE 1 and rewind to the start of that program ? I know i can record the program, I just wondering can i rewind to the start of the program on RTE 1 thats on live ? I can't do it on my set up. Just wondering am I doing something wrong :( Thanks in advance peoples :D

    Short answer is no. You can only rewind whatever channel you are watching back to the point where you began to watch it if that makes sense.

    What muffler said is correct.
    I'm sure you're aware too that you can press record on the program on RTE1 as it starts, watch to end of the program on Sky 1. Then change over to RTE 1 and you can rewind. (alternatively you could go to the planner and play)
    But as muffler said you can't rewind if you've missed the start of a program that hasn't been recorded.
