I'm interesting in becoming a barber

I have been seriously considering doing barber training. A six week part time course in Knights Barber School is interesting me. I have a few questions to ask that maybe people here might be able to tell me.

    1. After you get a certificate from the barber school, how do you go about getting a job as a barber trainee?

    2. How long does it actually take to get fully qualified as a barber?

    3. Is there different pay rates for the period of your apprenticeship?(or is this even this case)

    4. How much maximum can I expect to make as a barber, per hour per year etc

I have an interest in hair and the barber life would suit me with the decent hours, most barbers close at 6 or 7. It's not physical like my current job as a sales assistant and as a barber you wouldn't have to deal with annoying aul ones all the time:D

    Hey OP

things to consider, standing all day 7 - 8 hours a day, dealing with the public they may not be old wans but theyre still the public ;)

might be worth asking in local barbers are they taking on trainees, ive looked and never seen one advertised.

Im doing a barbering course my night. ive previously trained in hairdressing school and its simillar in some ways but completely different, i think its going to take me a few months to complete possibly 6- 8.There are ppl in my course who have had no experience and one guy is there 2years,another lady 1 year and im doing more advanced cuts than the lady.

Standing is tough out, and possible varicose veins are the downside.

Look on fas for rates of pay they give a good indicator.
I dont know if thats of any help to you.
