    http://www.rte.ie/aertel/169-07.html

RTE's Aertel transmitter works page states that a planned outage was intended between 2 and 5pm today. Most likely explaination.

    Thanks marno
Was trying to fit a wb aerial to mount leinster earlier in a strong reception area and couldn't get signal, all makes sense now.

It would have been very helpful and made sense if RTE/Saorview had local radio adds running in advance pre-warning the public. The amount of people phoning today giving out that (they paid good money to switch to Saorview and then it stops working Blah Blah Blah. Nag Nag Nag ).

I don't think the words "make sense", "RTE" and "Mount Leinster" can ever be put together what with the shenanigans of the last few years.

I think it's clear that RTÉ and RTÉNL don't talk to each other. You still hear mention that XYZ is available on Aertel, the web, etc but forget to mention SaorView. Even the Dáil Ulster Bank meeting yesterday mentioned they were live on UPC but no mention of News Now

I have been banging on about that for years. I think that RTE still beleive that Saorview will launch on October 24th 2012.
