Curtain Measuring

    Hi Everyone,

I have two windows at home measuring 68" width (inside window) and 76" drop (from top of window to floor). I know that you have to add on 6" to either side of the window for curtains, so that would give me a width of 80" and also another 6" to the top for the pole which would give me a drop of 82".
I was told by one store that readymades measuring 66" * 90" would be fine (once I took them up by 10") and another store yesterday told me I would need to get 90" * 90" - does anyone know which person is right?

    Any help gratefully appreciated!

When I had my curtains made by Home Focus to suit the room/window,it was 7 inches past each window reveal,7 inches above the top of the window to the pole and then 1 inch of a gap so that the curtain could open and close past the radiator below the window.

Technically they're both right, either size when adjusted will fit that window. The 66 x 90 wouldn't have a lot of fullness though so i'd go for the 90 x 90

Picture of a pair of thermal blackout curtains that were made for me.:)

The wider the curtain, the more pleats you will have, and the nicer it will look too.

Less pleats/folds make the curtain look "stretched out".

Curtain pole is 82 inches long, and the bespoke curtains are 90 wide and 59 drop
