Hey, i need advice, kinda fast.
I came to thailand alone. Bangkok for 2 days. Then pattaya for 4 days. Still there now. Checked out of my hotel this morning. now its 5 pm and sitting in an internet cafe. I want to get out of here coz theres not many people my age only older men and basically well, just hookers. But ive no idea where to go. Can anyone advise the next place i should go to. Preferably not like really really far away.

    Back to Bangkok most likely.

Then Chang mai or the islands.

You could get the bus to Laos - Vang Vien and go tubbing.

Not really close probably most the day to travel to any.

You nearly have to go through Bangkok to get to anywhere in Thailand. Also this is the off peak so it probably wont be that busy though the islands will still be fairly packed.

But whatever you do dont book anything in Bangkok it'll be a pure rip off.

it all depends on what you want to see/do .... if you goto Chiang Mai you get traditional Thai scenery and people ...but wetter than the rest of Thailand.

if you goto the Islands you get a place to escape the reality of world ...some party islands but mainly scenic areas ...if you goto Laos, Vietnam Cambodia etc .... you see other countries and other scenic stuff.

lots of choice really ...can you scuba dive ? do you want to ? Thailand has amongst the best in the world .... do you like trekking? Cambodia/Laos, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai .... etc

Thailand has lots of temples to visit (but they are all fairly similar - just the history behind them is different ...DONT under any circumstances insult their royalty ...its a serious offence !!), you can also visit Tiger farms, crocodile farms, butterfly, snake, monkey ..etc ... and get pics taken with the animals.

you could go island hopping ?

How much time do you have ?

Back to Bangkok and then either go west to Kanchanaburi or north to Ayuthia. Both places are nice places to spend a couple of days while you think about your next step!

Get back to Bangkok and take the overnight train up to Chiang Mai and spend a few days there and maybe get yourself on one of the organised treks in the surrounding mountains. You could also go to Chiang Rai. Either that or fly down to Samui or Phuket. You could also head over to Siam Reap in Cambodia, and go visit the Angor Wat temple complex that would be very cool.
