Just wondering if anyone has exported their car and re-registered it in the north? I'm from the north and living in Dublin and my car was originally a northern reg. I moved down here a few years ago and paid VRT and re-registered it. I'm being made redundant and it's looking like I may have to move home to the north…

Just wondering if anyone has exported their car and re-registered it in the north?

I'm from the north and living in Dublin and my car was originally a northern reg. I moved down here a few years ago and paid VRT and re-registered it. I'm being made redundant and it's looking like I may have to move home to the north indefinitely as a result as I'm not sure when I will get work.

Has anyone here ever exported their car to the north and re-registered it? I just taxed and insured my car for the year down here so I guess I could keep it like that for a while but I don't know if the insurance company would be ok with me keeping the car in the north indefinitely.

Any advice?
