    Anybody been to Iceland recently?
I'm thinking of going to Iceland in October/November time. I'm just wondering how expensive it is to eat out and maybe have a beer or 2? I know it used to be bad but I think I read somewhere that it's a bit better nowadays.
Any help or info would be appreciated.
    Cheers

Was there for a week in March, cost of loving is expensive particularly around Reykavik. I think the most i paid for a beer was 1000kr, roughly 7 euro. On the plus side, there is a Penis museum in the centre of Reykavik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_Phallological_Museum :D

Iceland always had a bad rep as being very expensive, which hasn't been true for years now, especially by comparison to a city like Dublin. Okay accommodation in a good hotel and car hire is not cheap, but food etc. is, or at least can be if you are careful.
Watch your wallet and expect to pay12 euro for dinner (say nice burger in somewhere like Cafe Paris downtown), but up to 30 euro for a steak. Wine in restaurants is expensive, but beer in most places is ok, say 5.50 to 7 euro a pint. Go to locals bars and stay away from the tourist traps like the IceBar. Remember Icelanders drink lots before they go out and Reykjavik doesn't really get going until well after midnight on Friday/Saturday but don't expect to go home before 7am :D
