Question about opening chest / shoulders back during lifting

    Hey all,

I'm doing the stronglifts 5x5 program that was recommended by a friend. I was reading up on how to do the exercises but I'm unsure about the technique for some of the exercises when it comes to the position of my shoulders.

Should I bring my shoulders together during the whole exercise? From what I can tell, for the barbell row I only bring them together at the peak of the lift. For the bench press and overhead press, the shoulders are together for both the up and down motions. Is this correct?
