whirlpool fridge freezer secret button!

hey, i have a whirlpool american style fridge freezer. i just found a white button beside the light at the water dispenser. i have tried pushing the buton at least three times and i have no idea what it does. could someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what it does? a mans sanity is at stake! thanks in advance.

If you keep the button depressed, the light stays on when the door is closed
