Coldsore or am I just being paranoid??

    Hi,

    Hope I'm in the right forum!!

    Just wondering if anyone can tell me how you know the difference between a coldsore and a pimple/spot! I've never had a coldsore in my life but am a bit worried I have one starting, it's a big spot on the edge of my upper lip, its a bit painful too, has a whitehead though......I'm hoping this means it isn't a coldsore, and that it's just from shaving or something??? Probably just being paranoid, but I've been a bit run down lately and just getting over a throat infection, which hasnt fully recovered yet and thinking I may have picked up the virus somewhere. :mad::mad:

    Been using Zovirax and it hasn't really made a difference, so going to put some zinc ointment on it now and see what happens!!
