Looking from a buyer's perspective (not a buyer though).

Straw selling in the south east for around €6 per 4x4 last month.

Say €3 to bale it and another €1 to handle / toss etc.

Average yield per acre 7 bales.

So that means €42 per acre less baling/etc of €28.

€14 is really all it is worth!!!

Per acre? If you're selling some I know a few lads that would deal at this money!

All my figures are per acre.

I am just showing how ridiculous the straw market has become in the past year.

If I had my way I would only be baling what ever is needed for own stock (once January passes they are very comfortable) and chop the rest.

    €14 doesn't buy much P and K.

Would have to agree with you there the p and k is worth about 60 euro per acre if you plough it in.Take away ten euro for the chopping. And you would need to be getting 50 to make it worthwhile.
