Hi I want an old style compass tatoo and map on my lower back. Have emailed the tatoo artist and he's keen. However I didn't disclose that I'm transgender and on hormone replacement therapy. I'm wondering whether there's any risk of fat redistribution could eventualy distort the shape?.

    I know there's a tatoo artist,at least one here,so I'd appreciate any knowledge!

    Danke schoen!:)

I'm no Doctor or qualified to truly say, but any tattoo may stretch or sag over time regardless. I have two tattoos from my past life and that thought never even entered my mind.

Lower back as in around your lower lumbar spine? (the point where your spine curves before becoming your tailbone?). It's hard to put on fat there centrally, it usually redistributes to the hips, but the skin like any skin will stretch with age/change in mass a little bit. Lovely idea for a tattoo btw :)

ohhhh thanks Jessiebelle!:) it will symbolise my search for direction and it's a relatively central point in my body too, directing me!my arms and legs are the de facto hands! ....plan to add some colour too, yeah your right though, virtually no fat there, unlikely to be much movement i suppose!

Should be fine. Might heal slower. Women generally heal a lot slower than men.
