Hey, technically I think my 6 months rule ends on 10th of july. Will I get a letter or what? Or do I just apply?

As in, the rule requiring you to wait 6 months after being issued your first permit to apply for your test?

Really, this is the first I'm hearing of it.
    Any sources/links?

    EDIT:
    Misleading text & Title.

The six months rule doesn't itself end!!!!
But yes, as soon as its been six months since the issue of your permit, you can apply for the test. There will be no letter to tell you this as you can read it straight off your licence.

You'll get no letter. You can apply now if you want, and either apply for the day or date after you 6 months is up, or reshcule your appointment for a day/date after your 6 months if the date given is within it.

Apply now, if you want. There will be no problem with doing that. Good Luck.

What do you mean first time hearing of it? Isn't there a rule that you must wait 6 moths between theory test and driving test? + Why it's misleading title and text?

There is a rule that you have to wait 6 months to sit the test. But no rule on when you can apply.

The six month rule only applies to a 1st learner permit holder. Once 6 months have lapsed from the date of their 1st learner permit being issued they can then apply/sit the test once they have had their 1st learner permit for 6 months.
After that they can apply and sit the test when ever they wish and when they are ready that is!

The six month rule before applying/sitting the driving test has only been around a few years so doubt that 'rule' will ever end but the rule applying to a 1st learn permit only 'ends' once they have had their 1st learner permit for 6 months.

Other posters misinterpreted your thread title thinking that the 'six month rule' itself, the actual rule was ending and not imposed by Law any more that is what is confusing some posters! What you meant by your thread the six month rule is ending for you as your 6 months have passed from the time you got your 1st learner permit!

No rule when to apply but the rule is 6 months before sitting the test. The only rule about applying is that you have done the EDT lessons if you got your learner permit on or after 4th April 2011. Once you have done the 12 Compulsory EDT lessons can you apply for the test though.

Exactly, I originally interpreted that the rule itself was was ending, rather than the OP coming to the end of his probationary learning period.
