Hi good people of boards.ie. I am looking for some advice.

I'm trying to stick photos to cards. It's just plain brown card. Would any of you have any experience in this? Could you recommend a type of glue to use? It's for wedding invitations so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spray mount would be the usual for that. You will get it in any arts and crafts shop, its expensive for what it is.

3M photo spray mount is the best, it allows repositioning of the picture if you stick it wrong. Also you need to consider some glue might leak through the picture and or eat away at the underside of the picture so go wit hthe spray mount.

Double sided tape is also good and would be a cheaper and easier/cleaner option for invitation cards.

Stay away from pritt stick (doesnt like getting damp or too warm) and defo stay away from the likes of copydex - horrible and messy to use.

never use spray mount, its not permenant, your pictures WILL bubble or peal

also the toxins the spray gives off are very harmful to you!!!

if it's just for invitations i'd go with double sided tape one bit top and bottom - or glue dots will make them stand out a bit from the card, one small on on each corner. realistically, these aren't going to be kept for very long [who keeps old wedding invitations?] they only have to hold in the post and a few weeks after when it's pinned to a fridge with a magnet.

I absolutely love using these double-sided stickies.

You are ok with most crafting glues, so long as they are acid free. This will ensure it doesn't damage your photo.

I use Collall Photoglue which allows movement if you position your photo wrong. It is also quick drying, and you don't need to use a lot. I get most of my crafting stuff from Create & Craft TV, relatively cheap and quick delivery to Ireland.

If you are going to use spray mount, allow your surface to dry thoroughly before you put the next photo on to spray, otherwise you will end up with residue from the previous spray on your picture.

    Hope this helps :)
