Yaris front wheel bearings

    Hi all,
I have to change the front passenger side wheel bearing on my 2001 Yaris Verso. I'll be removing the hub and bringing the unit to a local garage to press out the old bearing and press in the new one. My query is this... Should I buy a generic bearing [with clip etc] at a reasonable price €45.50, or should I try to source a genuine Toyota unit, if such a thing exists, at a probably higher price. I haven't been able to find the Toyota part online. I'm reluctant to contact the big Toyota garages as I have some negative experiences with them in the past, perhaps I should. Any and all suggestions gratefully received. Thanks & all the best.

There isn't any such thing as a generic wheel bearing any more.

They are vehicle specific and buying a quality aftermarket brand will be cheaper and every bit as good as a Toyota boxed part.

Thanks man, yes I'm coming around to this possibility. A Toyota parts manager P.M.d me with a price of €45.00 for the kit [bearing, clip and nut], so that could be the way to go. ta for the input and all the best, peace, Dunkster.

P.s. - If anyone knows a fair and reliable garage, in Dublin, who'd do the bearing pressing at a decent price I'd be a happy camper.Ta.
