A Hernia - New Goal Required

    Hi Guys

    Long time reader, first time poster.

    So in New Year's Eve 2011 I decided that one of my resolutions for 2012 was to complete the Dublin City Marathon in October 2012. My longest run to date had been the 1/2 Marathon the previous September.

    So I had my training schedule done up, new garmin bought to keep me in check and then DISASTER! A few weeks ago I got an inguinal hernia and I will be having surgery in a few weeks and I've been told to avoid running for 6 weeks after that - which put my training plan up the swanny.

    So instead of feeling sorry for myself I want to set myself a new goal and a new Marathon. I was wondering if you the good folks of boards would know of any Marathon's happening around the country that I can now work towards. Ideally sometime in January to March of next year.

    Would you consider looking abroad. Barcelona is a popular one in March where alot of Boards posters tend to target for a Spring Marathon
