How old do you have to be to fall into RTE's target audience.I'm forty five and still feel too young for most of it.

Yeah, I'm sure the proddies love their daily dose of the Angelus and Joe Duffy's pontificating from the Liveline pulpit...

Don't forget to mention that hallowed institution the Late Late Show, and its 3 famous presenters of widely differing abilities.

I don't think it's an age thing. I think if you fall into the category where it's Friday night and you literally cannot think of anything better to do than watch a bunch of c-list celebrities hock their wares under then guise of "entertainment" then you're prime target for RTE.

    They don't mind it.
RTÉ also pointed out that support for the continuation of the broadcast tradition has been expressed by the secretary of the Clonskeagh Mosque in Dublin, by the outgoing Chief Rabbi and by the Church of Ireland broadcast committee.

The person who played the most significant role in ensuring the Angelus would not be removed was the Church of Ireland archbishop. ..... He asked what was wrong with stopping twice a day to reflect for a minute or two.

Happy to be Irish but as a Dub I love it when certain people call me a "West Brit" and expect me to feel highly offended/excluded.

Almost in their mind as though being part of a backward, rural subculture would be preferable to being lumped in with one of the strongest most successful countries/cultures in history.

    Explain the subculture.

Their home based programming has tended to be biased towards middle aged and middle class audiences. All of those prime time programmes with boring yuppie types renovating their apartments, or organising these big parties, shows that kind of bias in Montrose. Never mind the same tired faces that appear on the likes of the LLS, Miriam, and Brendan O'Connor.

Thank God for the imports and the sports coverage, otherwise it would be 100pc crap.
