Have the doors but no keys for the locks! Do you need the barrel or just the mechanism?

I had one with 3 keys, but it went with the car :(:(

    I have:
    • Bonnet for a late mk4 (raised centre)
    • 3 doors
    • Front bumper
    • Bag o' electrics (starter, alternator, power steering pump, inlet manifold, injectors etc) basically engine components
    • Aluminium sump
    • 4 alloy wheels with 90% 185/60R14 tyres and nuts
    • 3 good shocks and springs for a mk4 facelift (non fork type rear shock)
    • Many, many 13 inch wheels

I'm sure there's something I've forgotten... Any of that stuff useful to anyone here? It will get the bin if no interest, space is at a premium!

are you SURE it's the gasket thats gone? is it overheating madly? I say this because I have encountered a fault before that appears to be the head gasket gone but in fact is the heater control valve faulty....if there is doubt in your mind, simply pull the two pipes off the unit (on the bulkhead) and join them with a bit of scrap pipe and run it.... new valve cost about €20....

    Thanks corktina for your advice.

The situation is we had a fiesta wit a good engine but a very rough body and saw one advertised cheaply wit a good body but the head gasket gone. We bought it to swap the engines. We ran the bad engine and it was very hard to start and was misfiring. We had been told that the water pump had failed and the engine was overheating and the head gasket had went.

My brother has only today taken out the bad engine and somehow I doubt I'll convince him to put it back in to try your idea! :-) And if the water pump is gone it'd be a full timing belt job to fix it so it's not worth it to try to sell it on.

    Thanks again.
