    Hi all,

I have an interview on the 17th for a position on the AIB IT grad program. Can anyone help me with a few questions?

Is the grad program good, as in what oppurtunitys will it open up?
What is the salary while on the program and when qualified?
Would I be based in bankcentre?
    Any major Pro's or Con's?

Any info or advice is much apprecated

    Hi onlystarting,

Have you done the aptitude tests yet?

What happens next will depend on your results in them. I know someone who joined recently on the graduate programme. He did well in the aptitude tests and entered as a "credit analyst", not to be confused with a credit risk analyst, which basically entails judging commercial applications for credit. The work thus far has been a mix of commercial retail banking and shadowing people in bankcentre.

If you do poorly on the aptitude test you'll enter customer retail banking and join as a teller or similar. There's two pay grades, the aforementioned "analysts" get good money, the latter mentioned get <€25k.

    Tellers get more than <25k

I have already completed the aptitude test, got the call to say interview in bank center on 17th.

So i would like to know what opportunitys and salarys that are available?

I would think the IT grads would receive a higher salary than other grads?

Not all it grads get higher salaries so don't be thinking that. As someone who recently started working there I'm on a lot more than two friends on the it side of things

Roles such as "teller" are extremely basic and entry level to be honest. There's no way such unskilled labour could demand pay greater than €26k and it's pretty questionable that said role, or one such as the "off counter", could warrant such money in the first time in a company that really doesn't have any...

The "analyst" roles are more advanced with more responsibility but the actual work performed is still fairly basic and repetitive.

Basic role?! Do you work as one?! I do it's far from basic training is immense and varied and pay is more than 26k for most new staff

So interview went well, I should find out by start of AUG if I got it or not. Fingers crossed I did.

I cant believe that noone knows what the salary will be after completion of the grad course. Is there noone that has already completed it?

Even a ballpark figure would put my mind at ease?

Also I still have no idea of the job role, what it contains etc. So ANY info would be appreciated.

The interview was held in bank center, really nice place that. I can see myself going in there every day :)

Bankcentre is a noisy, crowded kip. From all the places I've worked over the years in the bank, this was definitely the worst. Glad I'm not there anymore, the constant buzz from the open floor environment and the atrium used to be wrecking my head.

What area in IT are you gonna be?
If you're gonna be in IT I believe you'll be based in Burlington Road.
Unfortunately I have no idea what your salary will be like :(

No, IT is part of Operations&Technology and everyone from this area is being moved to Burlington Road. Vast majority of people have already been moved, the rest is scheduled to move shortly.
