Hi I am looking to get two Aylesbury Ducks, two near to laying for the first time. I want Aylesbury preferably, but Pekins would be fine aswell.

Im living in south Tipperary, so I'm looking for a market in that area to buy them. Has anyone purchased these ducks at markets near south Tipperary?

    Howya Alan27,
I used to be with the Irish Poultry Fanciers and won the lot at shows around Ireland.

Kept Pure Bred Aylesbury and Pekins.
If you get Aylesbury ducks there pron to going off their feet, very lazy because of their large Keel.

Pekin ducks are very nice to look at and stand up reasonable straight.

If I were you I would go for an Aylesbury x Pekin as they would probably suit you.

P.S it is very difficult to get very good Pure Bred Aylesbury in Ireland.

    Thanks for the replies.

Im not setting my heart on a pure bred Aylesbury, so a pekin would be just fine. There isnt a whole lot in the difference as in looks, mainly the colour of the bill and feet from what I have researched.

That's the Ballingarry man, I've bought from him, good poultry.
I got ducks from him and Moloney's in Poulmucka, beside the pub, as you're in Sth Tipp:)
