Is there a tattooist in Ireland that will allow a friend to stand in while you're getting the tattoo?

I ask because my mother would really like a tattoo but she gets extremely anxious if she's left alone/away from someone she knows. All she wants is to have someone stand in with her. I, myself, don't see why that's a problem but the couple of tattooist I've asked so far have said "no way".

So I thought I'd ask ye if you happen to know anyone who is ok with someone standing in.
Preferably someone in Cork, Limerick or Clare.

I had mine done by Danny Bulman in Limerick and my hubby was there with me. Granted that was about 10 years ago. Things might have changed now.
I went with hubby when he got his as well but the shop is closed down now.

Uli is dead sound he's in high on ink I think it's called it's on Thomas street near the blind pig, then there's all star ink. Both good studios in limerick and I can't see why they'd stop a nervous woman having company!

To be honest I think if you explain the situation before the session, most tattoo artists would try to accommodate if possible, just bear in mind a lot of tattoo shops are very very small so not everywhere might be suitable.

I'm an apprentice in a shop in Shannon if that suits. We have no problem with someone having a friend/family member with them.

I'm fairly shocked. I've had people sit in with me for every session I've had with Woyt, he had absolutely no problem with it. When I talked to Remis about getting a piece done by him, I asked could my grandmother sit in on it and he also had no issue with it.

If you explain, then the artist can probably accommodate. If they refuse, I'd at least expect them give a reason.

I'm sure there's no tattoo artist worth anything that would stop someone sitting in on it, unless they simply don't have the space.
(Most do, as it's almost a necessity!)

I've never had any problems (though all my experience is in Dublin), I was always told I could bring one friend in but no more :P

All star ink wouldn't let me and my mom in together even though we were both getting tattoos :/ My friend came in with me in Shannon, and in Devil's ink in Limerick I didn't actually have friends with me but there were other people getting tattooed at the same time who did have people with them if that's of any help :)

Allstar doesn't generally let people sit in, from experience but all you can do is ask. I'd also recommend High on Ink.

Some shops allow it,some don't. Personally I've only once brought a mate with me and that was years ago. It can be distracting for the artist and as already said, space can be limited around work stations. BTW, don't pick an artist on if they allow company or not, pick em on talent.
