Trinity Halls as a non-fresher?

Hi, i'm in my second year of Trinity and was thinking of trying to get a place in Trinity Halls in September. I'm applying for one of the shared modern rooms, not the ones in Cunningham house. I've got a few questions:
How likely is it that I will get a place? Considering that I'm applying on my own to share a room with someone? Will this make it more likely that I might be accepted?
    • Are there many non-freshers?
    • Is there much competition for places?
    • What kind of people are they looking for? What kind of thing should I put on my application?
    • Have I missed the deadline to apply? I can't seem to find much clear information for non CAO students.

    Thanks very much.

Hey, you've missed the deadline to apply by a few months, but I'd say it'd be worth emailing the residence office to ask if they'd still consider you!

Oh crap really? I was able to pay the 15 euro and put in the application, does that mean I'm guaranteed not to get a place until next term? Have places already been allocated? :(

Yeah, the application deadline for continuing students was sometime around March, and they let you know if you were allocated a room in April. You might as well try emailing them, though. It couldn't hurt.

Yeah i'm writing one now. When you say "continuing students", do you mean people who lived at Halls last year, or just any student who isn't a fresher? Feel so ****ing stupid now, thanks though.

Derp. Oh well, thanks anyway. Was stupid to get my hopes up. I sent in the application yesterday and their website took it (and the 15 euro charge) anyway. I'll ring them on the off chance, see if I can get on a waiting list or something.

    Email them and explain.

I missed the deadline last year for non freshers, emailed them and they told me to apply as normal. Got an email 15 mins later saying I got a place. :pac:

Bit of an update, I was on to them and they were actually able to find me a place, granted I had to make a special circumstances application (A family member is mentally ill) but if anyone is looking for a place its worth giving them a call, they're extremely helpful.

Mods can lock this thread if they want, thanks everyone for the help.
