Walked in when it was just finished:(.But had a look at the lots and TBH it was a mixed bag of not a whole lot.Fortuneatly for me a friend of mine had been present for the whole thing and had some prices ..The big seller was the war of independance/civil war IRA documentation for the Limerick region. It went for 2500 euros. UL bought it I think.
Next was the officers samuari sword for 850 euros.
The Nazi memobilia of various types went well enough. The RAD Hauer knife which I was intrested in went for 350 euros

The guns, well they were flintlocks and percussion locks of various types in various states of decay.TBH I have seen better examples being scrapped.:( Most had broken nipples, worn /broken main springs, badly damaged wood work, and too high a reserve price for what condition they were in. A Colt pocket model with a English gun dealer name and chrome effect wentfor 650 euros:eek:

It looked like a lot of stuff didnt go either or went for just about reserve price.
Verdict..Looked like a jumble sale of militaria from around Ireland.Be a worthwhile local event once in awhile to see if anything new is around. But dont expect Christies or Southerbys style items,or their prices either.:)

It was our first military auction and as a result we had not the option of refusing any guns, regardless of their condition. Naturally it is a learning curve for us and we hope to make the next one a bigger and better occasion. :)

Having been a successful bidder on several items in LAR before, I can say they are easy to deal with and very helpful with postage after the auction, which is always a plus.
    Thanks LAR

I really hope that Irish War of Independence lot went to University Limerick and not to some private dealer for splitting up on ebay.
