Hi lads went looking at a e270 and every 3rd press of the brake there was a whinning noise and the sales man said that's the brakes re pressuring and happens on all mercs. It's an annoying noise. Is this correct?

LOL that sales guy should quit his job and pursue his talent in comedy.

Test a few other Mercs to see if it's 'normal'. Then you'll have a definitive answer.

Probably the ABS pump alright, they do make a noise while running but they are know to fail as well, a replacement is about €800 but Mercedes were replacing them under warranty up until a year or two ago. Have heard of a few people still getting them done...definitely factor it into any price you may pay.

Ye it just sounds a bit stupid for such a noise to be there on such a car. I'll mention that tomorrow. Appreciate it

Brake re-pressuring is some sort of made up phrase he has used to possibly mask a problem IMO.
