After journalist Eugene Malone is killed in Dublin city centre another journalist runs in to problems.
On Saturday last, at around 8.30 in the morning I was parking my car in an outdoor city center car park, on my way to photograph a sporting event due to start at 9.00. The car park, which while not full at that hour had some early morning shoppers parking and getting ready for a day in the city.

As I prepared cameras and lenses from the boot of my car and hung three cameras from my shoulders, I debated with my self whether or not to carry a monopod. For the purposes of description a monopod is an extendable steel bar, quite heavy and used by sports photographers to support long camera lenses. I decided to cut down on what I was carrying and opted to leave the monopod in the car.

The fact that he was a journalist had nothing to do with the incident, ditto the sad case of Eugene Maloney so I can't see the basis for a thread in this forum. The case you're quoting falls into the category of Petty Crime/Alcohol Abuse, not News & Media.

If you want to be informed about current affairs, I'd start somewhere other than a grotty little website that does nothing but report crime.

If a solicitor had his car broken into, would you create a thread about it in the Legal forum?
