I'm just looking for ideas for fun places to bring young kids on the green luas line, playgrounds, fun shops etc. Thanks!

St Stephen's Green, canal bank (Charlemont) to feed the swans, Ranelagh (little park behind railway line), balally for airfield house.

There's a playground, although it's small, in Ballawley park about 10 minutes walk from Balally/ Kilmacud Luas stop.
+1 on Imaginosity, although if there's more than 1 adult it's expensive. But it is great.

Airfield is closed for refurbishment at the moment. If you could walk up to Marlay Park from Dundrum or Balally, there is loads to do there - a choice of playgrounds, stream, ducks etc.

Marley is a very long walk from the Luas, especially with small children. Much better to take the bus. But then, the buses aren't free for kids at the weekends like the Luas currently is. ;)

The new pirate adventure centre in Dundrum? Think it's €5 for kids. Palmerston park has a good playground (milltown stop) & of course the ducks in Stephens green or even the Disney store on grafton.

Take them into the National History Museum on Merrion Street, well worth the visit especially as it is free. Just remember it's not open on Mondays.

You could also pick up an application for Apple Green Petrol stations loyalty card. Apply online and get free tickets to go to the Wax Museum.

BTW, kids are free to travel on the Luas for all weekends in July! 1 Adult can bring 2 kids free.
Here is the link for it and a list of activities Luas have highlighted for parents.
