Slurry Agitating

How long after agitating, would slurry stay mixed enough to spread? In other words, if I agitate a tank today, and didn't get around to spreading for say 5 days, would the slurry still be ok to suck and spread?

its not ideal, i think 5 days might be a bit too much, also if tank is very full and you agitate sometimes it can really start to expand after a day or two, gas I guess but ive seen it come up thru the slats in my own place a few days after agitating

I have often left in 10 days before shifting. I think if it is none fibrous material in the tank it will stay perfect for ages. currently shifting slurry from a tank that was agitated many months ago and the slurry is of a perfect constituency. if feeding long silage then it will separate very quickly. If there is enough water in my tanks it keeps bubbling up through the top later and keeps the slurry perfect for some reason, most of this to do with the diet I feeding I would think

Jebus, reminds me of agitating a very full tank a few years ago. The shed filled up with foam over the height of the barriers and the slats lifted up and started floating...a right mess the same day looking back on it.

if the slurry is thick, i.e. little water and hard to agitate, then the agitating will laste long time, couple of weeks. if the slurry is thin, easy agitate with plenty of water then the solids will come to the top very quickly as in hours and water will be at bottom.

what sort of work do the clare boys do? did the farmers not get thick with all that commotion?

usually if foam visible like that its very watery i think?

If you leave it for more than one day you run the risk of the slurry not being even in the field. As the water will all come out first. You may get it out of the tank but it is not a good idea.
It only takes 15 min to re mix the tank before you spread it.

tie a rope onto your pipe just back from the end of it, keep end of pipe just below the surface, then you will see whats going in and you'll know if water has seperated from solids.
