I am going to the Volvo Ocean Race village in Galway City.
What are the must see things.?
I was at the last one a few years back and people were talking afterwards about what they had seen. Easy to miss some of the nuggets.
I am told the Global Village is impressive.

IMO the docks area is nicer than the global village area. There are free concerts every night, plenty to see and do between Docks and Salthill - you won't be bored. In shore racing will be good

There are a few quaint pubs in the docks area. They must be on to a good thing at the moment.

I'm told Sheridans on the Docks is a lovely pub / restaurant.

There are good reports about Eight Bar, but I have not been there.

Sheridans is long gone. It has been McGinns since then. Then it shut down. Now it is back to Padraig's bar for the Volvo - nice bar.

Bar 8 is a great bar too.

Grand pubs but in no way quaint and woefully overfilled for the week too.

They were wedged the other night but fun.
There's also a stage near Seapoint in Salthill - nice for a smaller 'crowd' feel yet part of the party and stroll back ifyou want more of the throngs!
