Malta...Sliema or St Julian's??

    Hi all,

    Myself and GF are thinking of either Sliema or St Julian's area in Malta for a 7 day holiday departing on the 19th July. Ideally we are looking for a relaxing holiday but also like our nightlife.

    Has anyone stayed in either area and if so can they recommend any good hotels??

    St julians (Paceville) is the main spot for nightlife. However it is very close to Sliema -as in 10 mins by taxi, and you can even walk it if you like. If it were me I would opt for Sliema - best of both worlds - close to Paceville for nightlife, but when you are not in the mood for clubs and partying, it is quieter.

    Sliema,especially Sliema creek is quiter and nearer to the sea than St Juliens..paceville can be quite hectic at night and hordes of people converge there at the weekends.

    Sliema also has the advanatage of being near the ferry to Valetta and the main bus routes too.
