I have wanted to do this for ages and I recently did the test. I have booked the date and paid the deposit, problem is I'm terrified, but I really want to do it at the same time. Has anybody on here had it done in Optical Express?

I think plenty have and been happy with it. You'll find several threads about it. I've read all of them. There's very few people expressing problems on them.
I've been reading up on Laser surgery the past year. It appears to work very well for most. Some have minor issues but still recommend the surgery. Even less speak of regretting it.
If you're nervous, try to reassure yourself that you're a good candidate. Ring the clinic and ascertain the following information that they should be happy to give you.
-Your cornea thickness and the amount of cornea that they are removing. Ensure that the reduction leaves you well above the minimum safety level which I forget offhand but you can google. Think it's about 300 microns or something.
-Your pupil size. Make sure it's no bigger than the treatment area - this can lead to 'halos'.
-Confirm that you don't suffer from dry eye now and are unlikely to suffer from it post treatment.

Most reputable places should check for all this beforehand anyway. However, most people that have had major problems, had one of these problems before surgery and were recommended it anyway and subsequently suffered. Personally, I'd get at least two consultations from two different places to be sure they're both saying the same things.
