Last Man Standing

    Hi All,

Have used boards for years, never this forum but seems like it could be the place to go.

Basically on in my late 20's, single, all of my friends have emigrated due to the economy and the one/two that are left are loved up and I dont really see any more.

For the first time in my life I am very very alone, Its not something I have experienced before and I hate it.

Of my group of friends I am now the last man standing.

basically i am wondering has anyone been through this before and how did you go about meeting new people? What clubs did you join? What sports did you take up? that kind a thing.

Im lucky Im not as down or as in need of as much emotional help and stuff as some people who post here but I feel for the first time in my life I could be heading that way and I dont want to allow that to happen.

    Any ideas??? All greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Take up something active..... and maybe outdoors.

I was in a similar situation a few years back when I realised that my friends didn't want to do anything active and I gave up asking them to do things.

There are loads of people into sports... my sis plays tag, I surf, other friends are into mountain walking/biking, tennis... etc.

HAve a look through the sports section here and see which sports you'd like to get into.
