I have a sky dish and card and got myself a BAI card.
Using the BAI I can get the free satellite channels.

I've an indoor aerial to connect to a Techwood TV which is saorview compatible.

How do I tune in the Saorview channels?

    thanks in advance

Hey there I'm looking for some good advice on which of the following TVs is best to buy...
Panasonic 42"plasma TX-p42ut50b smart tv with 3d etc at 750e
or a 37" led smart tv at 675e also panasonic.

I like the Panasonic but am not too worried about 3d but having said that I like a tough plasma screen cos the little monkeys here put dents in the old lcd! would a n led be tougher?

    Many thanks for any assistance:)

Some good advice would be to start your own thread & not hijack this one. The OP here is confused enough.

Have you read the manual which came with the TV? It should tell you how to tune it.

You also need to know that the TV network is designed for outdoor aerials 10 metres high, so you indoor aerial may not work.

Follow the "Installation" instructions on page 13 of the user manual.
Be sure to select the "digital" option.

If you don't have the manual, you can find a PDF of it here.:

    Is this TV not MPEG-2?
From the spec at page 30 or is that just for UK setting?

That particular model seems to be, but the OP is only interested in the tuning instructions.

Allow me to point you in the direction of the "new thread" button at the top left of the thread list ...

They advertised it as SV compatible.

    So I need a box:confused:

You don't need a box, the manual linked above is for a different model tv to yours, but the tuning instructions are more than likely the same.

What happened to your own manual?

why are these things never easy

Ok so then.. I need to tune it in to get SV.

Do I view the channels through the tv?
Should I disconnect the sky box from the tv while tuning ?

Can sky reduce their prices so i don't have to cut costs?:D

No need to disconnect the Sky box, it's a completely separate system.

If your aerial isn't picking up the Saorview signal, you won't get the channels.

    €200 to €350. Shop around.
