    Howdy,

a lot of online mixing solutions cropping up now. Its a nice clean solution.

just wondering if anyone provides online mixing & mastering specialising in dance/house/techno?

or if anyone who makes music has used anyone they would care to recommend?

i'm looking for someone decent but like most, i'm on a budget so not expecting to afford any high-end engineers.

    cheers

What do you consider reasonably priced?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,075 ✭✭✭Denalihighway

my research has indicated prices anywhere between €75 - €400 per track.

I guess reasonable would be on the mid-lower side of this. there would be mitigating circumstances though IE, experience, portfolio etc etc...

A track I mixed recently was mastered by John Davis who has done stuff for the Prodigy and many others. He did an amazing job. Cost them £150 and was a 2 day turn around.
    Link for him.

Final master of the track (hit 1080hd)

Hey trackmix would really like to hear this could you post a link? Also were you happy with the master yourself? as in did he do anything weird ("creative mastering"?) to the mix that you thought detracted from it's overall quality or was it a genuine improvement on the what was sent in?

+1 for those metropolis chaps, but whats wrong with the the Irish lads.

Aidan in masterlabs and ric over in wav. Am sure if you are sending out an Emaster, you could get a sit in session for the same price in Ireland.

If you have a fair idea of how you want it to sound it might be a good option for you.

I know I mentioned mastering but its more mixing i'm interested in. If mastering is included, even better.

Totally different things. Mastering and mixing are 2 completely different animals.

75€ for a mix is not happening!

yeah i realise they're very different things. it was mainly mixing i'm interested in.

and yes there are options online for as low as €75. obviously you get what you pay for but there seems to be good value in the online services in general. some of them throw in a quick master too - which would be good if you were just wanting a good demo quality or whatever.

nope - I've done absolutely nowt except build a list of contacts and sorted them into types with prices etc...interesting enough to see what's out there. predictably, unfortunately, we're way behind on this island.

i will do and will report back whenever that happens.

Hey guys, I've just opened up my own mastering studio - Daryl Howe Mastering. Currently I'm trying to build up clients and focus primarily on the electronic/house/techno music genre as this is what I know best and what I love to hear. If you are looking to have tracks mastered feel free to get in touch with me via my this and I'll get back in touch. I do have a website however board.ie wont allow me to post links as I'm still considered a "new user". Looking forward to hopefully hearing from some of you :) Daryl
