I'd go full on suit. I know its only a mechanic job but still an interview is an interview and you should dress to impress. Plus with a big company like dublin bus, they will have a HR department that will be giving you points based on how you dress and asking loads of irrelevant questions that have nothing got to do with the job!

Wear your best/most formal stuff, being overdressed won't ever really work against you whereas being underdressed will.

    what about
    a long sleeve top
jeans and brown shoes or something
    with a jacket in hand?
or would that be under dressed?

Way too under dressed and would probably cost you marks at the interview. I agree with AeroEng, go for the suit and as Kurz says you can't go over dressed. If you don't have a suit, borrow one from a friend or family. Pick up a cheap shirt and tie in Penneys and you'll be grand. Best of luck with the interview.

    I'd go with this too.

You can always take off the jacket if it you want to (just say "is it ok if I take off this jacket 'cos it's so hot" or something like that).

    A highly skilled job!

When I went for my interview as an apprentice electrician I wore slacks and a shirt. Felt a bit overdressed but I think it makes a good first impression. I'd say shirt and slacks.
