Saorview aerial wiring with satellite

Ok so I hope I explain myself properly here and it's not a totally daft query.

I recently got rid of sky so have the box currently receiving the freeview channels with the intention of getting a Humax PVR. There are currently 2 coax coming to sky box which will in turn go into the Humax when I get it. A straight swap as such. All ok there.

Here is where my limited knowledge on these matters catches me out.

I want to put an aerial in the attic for Saorview and run this to a few points in the house including the main one where the Humax will be. Whats the problem you ask.

I don't want to have to run a completly new line down for the main tv for saorview but my 2 points are already being used for the sat box. Is it possible to split one of these and run it to the tv for saorview or is it just not possible. Does that make sense even?

Or should i get someone in who knows what they are doing :o

    Thanks
    Bull

    splitters

wall plate combiner pair, combiner in attic.

You must have power pass to lnb from receiver on satellite leg is the only complication.

Uhf uses different frequency to sat and can be split / unsplit with those.

Use 2 of these satellite combiners - http://www.tvtrade.ie/alltrade-tv-aerial-and-satellite-combiner.html

One where you insert the aerial feed and the other at the TV end to split the 2 signals.

EDIT: Sponge Bob beat me to it, writing as he posted :)

That's great guys, thanks for that.

I want to also send Saorview to a few other rooms. So I would use a 4 or 6 way power pass in attic to split saorview signal and also for splitting line to main room. As in the one splitter can be used for all?

    Is this correct?

Power pass for sat only, get a pair and play around with them

Any satellite/terrestrial diplexer will have power pass on the satellite side & you'll be placing them after the main terrestrial splitter or amplifier, no need to give it a 2nd thought.

You can't use 1 "splitter" unless it's a multiswitch, not necessary in your case.

You 1st split the terrestrial signal, maybe using an amplifier. If you don't have power in the attic, you can use a masthead type with separate PSU, with the PSU at 1 of the non-satellite tv points.

For the point you wish to feed both Saorview & satellite, insert your sat./terr. combiner on the output cable from the amp/splitter.
