    Hi,
I was just asked by a friend about the legality and possibilities of shooting abroad. Would anyone know a- if you can bring your firearm abroad,
and b-where is a good place to hunt or that organizes hunting holidays/breaks?

Yes, definitely possible. A lot of airlines are very happy to take firearms. As to where's a good place to go, that'll depend what he wants to do. A plains game safari in South Africa or Namibia is going to be very different to a driven boar shoot in Germany or Croatia or stalking chamois or ibex in the Pyrenees.

It all depends on where you go. It sometimes pays to rent an estate gun in some places as going through some airports with a gun is a nightmare. You may be able to share a double gun case with a pal but check with the airport/airline (both ways)! as the rules may differ on the way back...

If you want the best fun that anyone can have with their clothes on then go driven boar shooting!!! If that is your want of course. We go to a place on the Hungarian/Slovakian border, it isn't going to break the bank and the banter is almost as good as the hunting itself. If you want some info I can p.m you details.

    Hope that's helpful
