"Alternative Ulster" by Stiff Little Fingers should be an option.

I'm actually taken aback. BoI have listened to me!! Well done, me and my eardrums thank you.

Will you please play more than 30 secs on the loop too please.

I do however feel that by chosing such well known pieces of classical music you might just be prelonging the horror :) there are some quite shrieky string sections in some places in those too. Has anyone listened to these over a phone connection before they were selected?

Anyway, in the absence of other choices I'm voting for Rachmaninov. But would suggest including a piano piece (Chopin or Eric Satie suggested below) to avoid the "violins down the phone" issue.

By the way the Bach title is "Air on a G String" Air on the G String is something rather different. :o

While I voted for the Bach tune, I was a bit disappointed that there was no contemporary music in the choice.
For example, I was pleasantly surprised when I called one of the mobile phone operators and the hold music was Air - All I Need. A beautiful song, that I defy anybody to dislike.

    Hi all,

Thank you very much for your input.

The results are in and our poll is now closed. With exactly half of the votes, Bach - Air on a G String is the winner.

We hope to have our new hold music implemented shortly.

    Thanks again,
    Graham
