Sony Ericsson Play doing some funny things

    Hey

About 2 days ago my phone( Sony Ericsson Play ) started to flicker off like I had pressed the power/light saver. It would then stay that way until I restarted the phone.
Now my texts I receive are show up initially but when I open them they disappear. It seems to be very slow to react to commands now also.
Ive downloaded AVG anti virus just incase but hasn't made any real difference. Also thought it might be water damage so tried drying it but just stopped the flickering for a while.

Has anyone any advice or help on what to do to fix it. ?

    Thank You

Sounds like a hardware issue I'm afraid.

    1. Remove AVG, its a joke having AV packages for android

    2. Get the latests PCC, backup everything, then us the repair mode to flash the latest firmware and restore the backup.

Im pretty new to this smartphone business, forgive my innocence.

So is there any need for anti virus at all ? or whats the android equivalent

What does PCC mean ? Also where would I backup to, I presume there is a website I can use.

Not complaining to you, more at AVG etc that they release them.

Android is pretty much Linux. In the same way you dont need an AV package for a linux distro you dont need one for android. Windows and now mac are the two environments where you do.

PCC = Pc Companion. Download it from sony and away you go. It'll backup to your computer.
