With just two weeks to go to Ireland's most prestigious T&F event the list of athletes competing continues to grow.

Cork City Sports have just landed a major coop attracting Jeremy Wariner to the event. The third fastest man ever over 400m, with numerous world and Olympic titles to his name. Looks like he'll be up against our own Brian Gregan, once he recovers in time from his injury in Helsinki. This is really big for the meet and should hopefully now lift it's stature to even greater heights.

LaShawn Merritt, Tony McQuay and Bryshon Nellum were first three at Olympic trials.
Wariner came 6th so misses out.

She doesn't have the A standard so will not be taking part... this year. One for the future.

He will probably be on the relay team.

The line up is getting better by the day! Olympic silver medalist Shericka Williams of Jamaica is now confirmed for the 400m. It'll make for a great race for Joanne Cuddihy and the 400m relay squad!

Provisional start lists are up: http://www.corkcitysports.ie/mm2012/ccs_start1.pdf

Some smoking fields if everyone shows up. Men's 400m flat and hurdles looks particularly strong, while 11 men with sub-4 credentials in the mile.

Top marks to organisers for some great fields loads of top class athletes

Will be interested to see how Ciara M goes against Lucy Van Dalen will be a nice indication of how she would have faired in the US Collegiate system (LvD was 1st in indoor mile and fourth in 1500m at NCAAs this year (2nd last year))

The mens 400mh has a youthful look but none the less a top class field with 3 sub 50 runners

The womens 400m is one of the stand out events with four of the 4x400m pool runners in action along with Olympic Silver medalist Shericka Williams

Womens 3k is also a strong one

Mens mile is top quality also with a very strong line up which should see a fair few sub 4s.

    Has Wariner been scratched?

None the less I think even the notorious wind of the Mardyke can hamper such a great event. Raging I am missing it though optimistically hoping someone will post a link to a stream

(Doubtful but I had to try :D)

Great event last night and very good turnout.

Rob Heffernan and Olive Loughnane were on fire.

Collis Bermingham was very impressive in the 3000m.Id say potential medal in London.

Id say Mad Len wont be too happy with 5th place although top 5 finishers under 4 minutes.

It was a cracking evening in fairness. The buzz about the place for the mens mile and the 3000m walk were amazing.

I also thought Len was gonna do it with 200m left. He seems happy enough though. Interesting to see how he goes in the Morton mile.

Irish athletes did very well overall i think. The 400m womens was great and id say joanne is pretty pleased with that time.
