Ok, so I think most of you will know the FTO im talking about - it's a waterford based company training in Melbourne, Florida. I have two friends in the middle of integrated training with them, despite me warning them of all the bad things that i had heard about them. Unfortunately its going to be a case of "i told you so" - they have been grounded for the past few days and have been told that they are most likely going to be coming home to Ireland. I don't know the reason for this, but i just thought i'd let people know in case this is on their short list for training providers.

Does anyone else have any info on the situation of this company?

This happened to them before did it not at Flight Safety International?

If I was to guess I'd say there's problems with FIT, or the FAA are unhappy with something. Given my experience with with this FTO they would be the most likely reasons in one way or another.

This was bound to happen given how many beans are accidentally spilled by graduates who have gaps so big that they don't realise the seriousness of their witty admissions.

Just found out its because of unpaid bills to FIT. The IAA are also meeting with the students in Florida this morning to tell them their options.

Personally I'd be sickened if I was a student after shelling out that much cash and the school isn't paying it's bills. Makes you wonder where all the money is gone!

I know! Paying ~€90k for flight training which is done in Florida!! The FTO must make a huge profit per student, I dont understand where the money is gone! My friend who is affected is having a rant on his facebook about someone called Mike Edgew^rth calling him every name under the sun, so im guessing thos guy has something to do with it. I wonder how this will affect their irish operations!

Edgeworth is the owner. He says he is a captain despite allegedly never actually being an airline pilot.
