I am ashamed to say that although from time to time I pray this chaplet, I have never read the Diary:o just certain excerpts. I am even more ashamed to say I HAVE the diary and have not yet read it. I tend to shy away from books that look like it would take years to read. :o

So . . . somebody tell me their experience in reading it. Have you read it in full and are you reading it now?

If yes to any, how to do you find it?

O man....that's exactly me! LOL! I have the diary too, and I only flicked through it! Someday I WILL read it in full. BTW I too say the chaplet and participate in the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday, and I have the DM Image over my computer station! ;)

I will have to get this DM icon and place it in my home too. I remember the first time I ever saw the image. It was when I was fifteen and I was in this old mans house who smoked cannibas and I did too. As we were sitting there a Divine mercy leaflet came through the door for the Novena. I remember him looking at it ( he didnt believe in God ) and saying ''Jesus where are my teabags? why don't you buy me some teabags?'' and I remember having a phenomonal pain in my heart when he said that. I was not a practicing Christian then so it would have baffled me but perhaps God allowed me to feel his pain that day.

Now that I am much older I often think that if I could revisit that day I'd say to him: God will not do for you what you can do for yourself.

But back to the diary, I am going to try hard to get into reading it. I know one fella in my parish who has read it front to back more times than he can remember  I admire his devotion to this great Saint.

I have the book, two copies in fact. I think I am more attached to the beautiful edition I have here than actually reading it.

I started to read it earlier this year but just couldn't get in to it. I read perhaps a few chapters.

I read it about a zillion years ago. What I often find though is I buy interesting 'must read' books when I see them. They may then languish on my bookshelf for years till the time is right. That way it's at hand when you need it.
I find it helpful to have a set time for reading and limit it to something like 15-30 mins. First thing in the morning when I'm trying to wake up over a cup of coffee works well for me.
I'm between books at the moment so wasting my time on boards instead....

I used to live in Krakow and we would go out have mass at the Basilica of Divine mercy.

The Phrase "Jezus ufam tobie" very popular in Polish Catholic culture.

Yes I just begun reading it. Very powerful stuff. It amazes me the Mercy that God has. I also find her ( St.Faustina ) gentle ways very comforting and uplifting. I still have the book version that says ''Sr.Faustina'' on it instead of Saint. So I have the old version but still great and I love it.

It's very addictive and find myself craving to read it.
