no, i'm not selling my CL9 for one but..

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-18663555

so, some poor man thought it would be a good idea to take his son for a spin on one of these for his 21st.

after reading my first thoughts were

a/ did he own the lambo

    or

    b/ did he hire

i was thinking he hired and he crashed, and sure enough, he rolled it over and duly got killed.

just goes to show if you have a big fat check book you can drive anything now, even if you are not the least bit competent to do so.

5000000+ bhp,, not the run of the mill saloon that guy was used to driving i'm sure.

A little respect for the grieving family would be more appropriate.

    because ..........

how can it be so easy to get a 500bhp car...

just say joe murphy wins the lotto from next door and drives his 1.2 polo over the cliff and goes to get a gallardo the next day.

i'm sure he would not live very long.

I have read somewhere that marques such as Ferrari and etc do a profile fit to buyers before they even sell a car.

I am quite sure the owners of that place wont be the least bit pleased to have someone killed over renting a super car, I am also sure they will be a bit pissed off to lose a gallardo.

furthermore I am quite sure too the managers will be more careful in future who they hire cars to.

I'm sure it would be at the risk of the driver if he / she crashed and died and I'd be fairly sure he signed a disclaimer for injury or death.

Not all people who drive ferraris or lambos are racing car drivers carbon

yes but just because you have $$$ should not mean you can hire a car like that so easily.

    just a thought.

flooring a gallardo on an airstrip is very unlike flooring a vectra.

having said that its a sad story.

Surely the airstrip was poorly designed or car was defective?
It either hit some kind of a kerb causing it to roll or a change of direction rolled it which is unlikely.
Its nothing more than anything that I would do, it was being drivven in controlled safe conditions and something went wrong, stuff happens.
Not everyone who likes cars is a formula one driver , some of us have day jobs to go to...

I think along with earning the money to buy cars, people should have to earn the right to drive said cars. Every post bashing poor people counts as 1 point, overtaking on a bend give you 5 points. You need over 9000 points for a lamborghini

It's a good job all the car fatalities in Ireland happen in Lambos, as accidents never happen in "normal" cars!

And yeah, I'm sure the company is "pissed off" that they lost an insured Gallardo!

Says the man with a passion for kv6 rovers. Do you actually own one of these relics. I see rear discs and pads cost about a grand.. nice that's if you can get them from China or wherever rovers come from now

I suppose you also have driven a Gallardo, how was that for you?

You don't need a fat check book to drive a Lamborghini for a day.

Fatter than most people would be prepared to spend for an hour or two.

Some people might actually wish to treat themselves to something once in a while. Which was obviously the case here. The man was obviously giving this is a present to his son who presumably would not have been able to drive it for insurance reasons.

I have to say the tone taken by you at a family's misfortune is terrible.

I wonder was the car insured if the son was in the passenger seat i.e. no instructor on board?

Given that it was an airfield (i.e. no bends), it's a wonder that he managed to overturn it.

Well thats what you said yourself. And after all that work it would probably blow a gasket at 130mph.

It was careless and reckless to take his son on a supercar and get killed.

Clearly his driving skills were not honed for that car.

Further reinforces my point he was a crap driver.
